Timothy Price, a native of Goldsboro, NC, has a vast musical background. He began studying piano at an early age with Anita Poland, then organ with Marshalle Lewis. He is a graduate of East Carolina University with degrees in Sacred Music, Organ Performance, and Elementary Education. He studied organ with Janette Fishell, Colin Andrews, and Andrew Scanlon; piano with Henry Doskey and Keiko Sekino; harpsichord with John O'Brien; voice with Louise Toppin; and conducting with Daniel Bara and Al Sturgis. Timothy has traveled throughout New England playing our country's finest instruments in addition to the organs of many renowned cathedrals in Germany, France, Spain, and England.
He has served as Director of the Music Ministry at Pine Forest United Methodist Church (Goldsboro), First Baptist Church (Kinston), Suffolk Presbyterian Church in Suffolk, VA, Principal Organist at The Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville, NC and as Director of Music at First Christian Church in Farmville, NC. Timothy is an experienced handbell ringer and has performed with The Raleigh Ringers. Timothy now teaches sixth grade at Western Branch Middle School in Chesapeake, VA and serves as the Music Director/Organist at Churchland Baptist Church. Timothy has performed piano and organ repertoire with the Outer Banks Chorus on numerous occasions since 2015 before becoming a member of the ensemble in 2021. In August 2023, Timothy was appointed as the organization's interim accompanist. |
